Wikinews Was The First To Report The Death Of Benoit’s Wife — Hours Before The Benoit Bodies Were Discovered By The Police!

A weird twist has just come up regarding the grisly and mysterious Benoit double murder-suicide case. And this concerns edit-friendly Wikipedia:

News of Nancy Benoit’s death was inexplicably posted on Wikipedia 14 hours before the police discovered the bodies. This was initially reported on Wikinews and later on FOXNews.com. The original posting read: “Chris Benoit was replaced by Johnny Nitro for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.” The phrase “stemming from the death of his wife Nancy” was added to the English Wikipedia’s “Chris Benoit” article at 12:01 a.m. EDT on June 25, whereas the Fayette County police reportedly discovered the bodies of the Benoit family at 2:30 p.m. EDT (14 hours, 29 minutes later). The IP address of the editor was traced to Stamford, Connecticut, which is also the location of WWE headquarters. After news of the early death notice reached mainstream media, the anonymous poster accessed Wikinews to explain his seemingly prescient comments as a “huge coincidence and nothing more”. Police have since “seized computer equipment from the person responsible for the postings,” and have called the confession an “unbelievable hindrance.” It’s also reported that “if the person had knowledge of the death before police discovered the body, he or she could face criminal charges.”

The editor was traced in World Wrestling Entertainment’s bailiwick? Hmmm. Smell any conspiracy here?

Up to now, there are still quite a few question marks that are being raised regarding Eddie Guerrero’s sudden death last 2005. There are rumors that steroids have something to do with Latino Heat’s death, although the late luchador’s wife Vickie Guerrero and the WWE already denied this.

As most wrestling fans know, Eddie and Chris are like familia. Now they’re both gone.

Let’s add some excitement and angle to this weird twist then: both best buddies are dead, but there’s another best pal of theirs who’s still alive…

Dean Malenko.

Is he, um, next?

Just asking, guys.
