Destroy Earth With A Coffee Can

The simple trick to destroy something as huge as this planet, explains Deep Astronomy, lies in vacuum energy.
“Empty space” is not exactly empty, but a seething volume of matter–antimatter interactions. These interactions contain a lot of energy that a teaspoon can blow up the moon. But the reason we’re not vaporized yet is because they happen so fast that they’re not exactly part of the observable universe. These interactions take place on a timescale shorter than the Planck Time — the shortest possible time interval science can measure. In other words, anything that happens quicker than Planck Time can’t be measured (although for some roundabout ways, you know they’re there).
Since they happen so quickly, Deep Astronomy explains, the average energy of these interactions remains zero, and we don’t blow up.
But here’s the clever question: What if you can slow down these matter–antimatter interactions?
The answer: a coffee can and Angelina Jolie. But I think Elisha Cuthbert can do the trick better. Here’s how.
