Windows Vista Beta is Out

The eager geeky public can now download the beta version of Windows Vista, only now Microsoft’s spin-meisters are calling the whole thing “Customer Preview Program.” Clever bastards.

But that’s okay. If you have an extra machine to spare–no, not that ancient one–it would be nice to test the new OS. I hear it has pretty cool eye-candy, and neat new features such as its “anti-blue screen of death” (ABSD). ABSD works this way: when you press Control-Alt-Delete, Bill Gates’s smooth, hairless fist comes out of the screen to either knock you off or give you the finger.

Download the beta here, or visit Microsoft’s website and pay one fifillion dollars for a DVD copy. Come on. You know you want to.
