Michelin’s “Motorcycle Tanks”

[Hyanide]

One of the most interesting entries to the Michelin Challenge Design 2006 are Baal and Hyanide–sleek, ultra-cool motorcycles that use not ordinary tires but bendable rubber tracks.

Created by Germans Oliver Keller and Tillman Schlootz, these revolutionary motorcycle “tanks” are so futuristic you’d think only aliens like Stephen Hawking could be capable of bringing these toys down to earth.

Being intelligent and ground adopting by construction and material, the system does not need complicated sensor systems or adjustable suspensions. Providing much space for a motor, the frame construction allows the use of several engine concepts like conventional fuel systems or fuel cell systems.

The displayed models use 500 ccm ATV Motor which are already mass produced. In general, this engine concept makes many different terms of use possible.
