No, German candy maker Haribo’s new “Knut Candy” is not the company’s attempt in cashing in on the polar bear’s popularity. They just want to eat Knut so much that a sugared, chewy, non-pooping version will do.
Loyal Haribo employee Jose Barranca-Estornell fondly watches the mass production of thousands of small Knuts. He sighs many times a minute and has small tears in his eyes whenever you’d ask him about these sweet, polar bear things. Ain’t he a doll?
