Diamond-studded Japanese Cake You Wouldn’t Even Eat

At the Takashimaya department store in the western city of Osaka, this diamond-studded Japanese cake is on display.

Yes, it is for sale. So if you have some money — like $850,000 — and a crazy appetite for the hardest form of carbon in the world, maybe this is the perfect Christmas dessert you’ve been looking for.

Layered with 100 diamonds, with a combined weight of 50 carats, the 14-inch dessert is named after the Japanese supplier of the gems, Sa-Birth, and designed by Masami Miyamoto.
