“Wine Dress” As Avant Garde Fashion — If You’re A Cave Woman Who Loves Hanging Out In Bodies Of Water

Gary Cass, a scientific technician at the University of Western Australia in Perth, has “grown” a dress from cellulose woven by bacteria in a vat of fermenting wine. The dress, of course, can be worn in everyday life, except that it must remain wet at all times to prevent the fibers from breaking down. This dress sounds like a great gift idea if you’re planning for a dinner date to increase your chances of getting laid right after the last sip of wine.
There’s some poetic wine-related irony there we just couldn’t quite put a finger on.
