The Devil’s Bible (Codex Gigas) Sparks Some Satan-inspired Excitement In Prague
Filed under: Strange Artifacts, Strange Things To Read
The Devil’s Bible (Codex Gigas), the world’s biggest Bible and so named because of colorful illustrations of you-know-who adorning its pages, is currently in Prague for an exhibition.
The Devil’s Bible will be on display in Prague till January 6, after which it will return to the Swedish Royal Library in Stockholm.
Gunnar Sahlin, director of the Swedish Royal Library, said the Bible was the most important manuscript of the library.
The exhibition is a result of diplomatic negotiations. This has been for the third and last time the manuscript left Sweden in the last more than 360 years, according to Sahlin.
You can even browse the Devil’s Bible’s pages here.
