Scientists in Singapore have made a battery that derives its power from a drop of urine.

The prototype battery produced about 1.5 volts, the same as a standard AA battery, and runs for about 90 minutes. Researchers said the power, voltage, and lifetime of the battery can be improved by adjusting the geometry and materials used.

And for some of those who are asking: “I’ve been trying to pee, but all that comes out is pus and blood. What about that?” You need not worry, as these fine scientists have thoughtfully included your discriminating demographic by making sure the battery will still run even if you wet it with tears, blood, and semen.
