Toyota Announces Its Slew Of Robots To Serve As Partners To Humans
Filed under: Robotics

Toyota has recently released an overview of its “Toyota Partner Robots” — machines primarily designed to effectively assist humans. There’s a bipedal “walking model robot” that can use its hands on a wide variety of tasks, and there’s also a “rolling model robot” that can move fast and is also deft with its hands. And judging from that trumpet it’s holding, we presume it can play some good music, too.
But one intriguing thing is the “mountable model,” which looks like a wheel chair, except it has two robotic legs instead of wheels. Researchers at Toyota probably made a study and found out that elderly people love it more when the chair they’re sitting on walks like some bipedal animal.

More about these fine robotic things here.
