If you’re wondering why this robot doing something humans don’t care about is in the news, watch this earlier, cringe-worthy stunt for context. Because in an almost similar presentation in Japan, Asimo had a small moment of confusion as it climbed the same stairs, suddenly uncertain whether it should act like the high-tech, very, very advanced humanoid robot as screamed by the advertisements, or just some silly piece of metal with a talent for following gravity.

But at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, it wowed the crowd by doing something incredible like… walking like a duck, in circles. Maybe next time we can expect it doing something far more amazing, like bending over and shitting some diamonds.
