Chinese Security Robot May Not Be Able To Shove A Nightstick Up Yours, But Still…
Filed under: Robots: toys, developments, cool innovations, weird shit
Chinese scientists have developed a security robot equipped with Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) and wide-angle cameras, and uses ultrasonic equipment to avoid obstacles and transmits information on suspect sights and noises, such as fires, to a controller.
Jointly developed by the Civil Aviation University of China and Tianjin YAAN Technology Electronics Co. Ltd., the robot can patrol residential zones, airports, warehouses, department stores and other public places. It’s expected to go on sale within two or three months. Although it looks something teenagers would kick and vandalize, we believe pairing it somehow with Samsung’s machinegunning toy wouldn’t let that happen.
