The Taming of the Slob
This has been on the New York Times for weeks but I think it’s worth a mention: if you want to tame your husband, take the cue from trainers of exotic animals by:
…rewarding behavior you like and ignoring behavior you don’t. After all, you don’t get a sea lion to balance a ball on the end of its nose by nagging.
It’s elegantly simple. Amy Sutherland realized that if trainers could teach an elephant to paint or a dolphin to flip, it must also work with the greatest beast of them all: the husband.
I wonder, though, if the same trick works with difficult wives, or should the classic measures in Taming of the Shrew still best apply?
