I’m a huuuuuuge Segway advocate, but even I have to admit this is pretty messed up. I use mine instead of a car, which has been great - I save hundreds of dollars by not paying for gas and parking. The disabled community looooves Segways. Absolutely transformative for them. However - the odds that this mom is both/either disabled and/or without a car are pretty small. Even if that were true (which I seriously doubt) pushing or pulling anything along with you with one hand while steering the Segway with the other is simply NOT a good idea. Especially precious cargo. Dear Mom, please find another way. The life of your child depends on it. And you make the rest of us Segway users look bad. This is so embarassing it ALMOST makes me want to get back in a car. I reaaallllly don’t want to do that. Cars, traffic, gasoline - yuck. Evil. Keep away.
