Maxim: Angel in the Flesh

Angelica Panganiban has all grown up. Really. About a decade ago, I was gobbling a burger in some McDonald’s outlet in the south of Manila when I first met this girl: she was a seven year old playing with Ronald McDonald’s balls in the play area, shrieking and running around the place and throwing her weight around like the celebrity kid that she was.
This time, from the looks of her, the girl’s about to play with a different set of toys–the more exciting kind. And she’d probably be “shrieking passionately” for an entirely different reason, too.
I have a DVD copy of Santa Santita sitting somewhere in the vast galaxy of my filthy disc racks, and I haven’t even gotten around to actually watching the movie; I thought she didn’t fit the vamp role. She was too chubby for my taste. Plus, I presumed Santa Santita was an insufferably corny movie.
Well, it maybe is, but this Maxim set changes the way I look at the whole thing; I might even watch the movie later tonight. Angelica even leaves in the dust fellow former child star Camille Pratts’ “confusing” FHM set that came out some months back.
