OhMiBod Is Why Apple Was Pissed With The gPod

Remember when Apple was throwing its usual heavy-handed tantrums a few months back over the Japanese-made gPod, a vibrator that “dances” with the music? Now we know why. During the recent Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas, a former Apple marketing executive who goes by the name “Suki” was seen hawking one suave-looking “music-driven” vibrator she’s calling “OhMiBod.”

Suki says the vibrator is designed to be “socially acceptable.”

“The OhMiBod name is playful and promotes feelings of gratification and pleasure, not embarrassment or uneasiness,” she says.

The sleek packaging looks like something that might have come straight from the iPod factory.

Women love colours and have been keen buyers of mobile phones, notebooks and digital cameras that have a splash of brightness. This use of colour in gadgets has transferred over to the adult industry’s own range. Boring skin tones are out, making way for bright colours such as lime green, fire-engine red and royal blues.

And by socially acceptable, Suki probably means women can use it on the street as long as the dildo looks as “cool” as the iPod. On the other hand, we attempted cluing in gPod’s boy genius Ichiro Kameda on this intriguing development, but we didn’t get a word he was saying, probably because humans are known to produce muffled consonants when they’re trying to fish out something like the gPod from deep in their asses.
