Innovative marketers and salon owners in southern China are apparently gleefully spreading STDs and AIDS by recycling used condoms into colorful headbands, which actually sell well. “People could be infected with AIDS, warts or other diseases if they hold the rubber bands or strings in their mouths while weaving their hair into plaits or buns,” said a local dermatologist. Oh, it’s a tough decision — China’s battle against unruly hair versus unimaginable STD-induced suffering. Who won’t choose nice hair any day?
