The Video Game That Doesn’t Let You Play

Amazing Food Detective

The free online game called the Incredible Adventures of the Amazing Food Detective by Kaiser Permanente supposedly teaches players (kids primarily) about healthy eating and exercise, as 20 minutes into playing, the game locks out the players — apparently as some Pavlovian method to force players to go out into the sunshine and flex those atrophied muscles. Hey, it sounds like a brilliant idea that we’re sure will work, especially now that we live in a world where there are absolutely no other play thingies called game consoles.
