The Grand Restaurant of Animal “Horrors”

If you’re a dog, you’ll recognize that these sausagey things hanging on hooks are penises of your friends.

Beijing’s Guolizhuang restaurant is one of the reasons why the knee-jerk reaction of dogs in China when seeing humans is recoiling in horror. Not only dogs have this existential dilemma, but also tigers, donkeys, oxen, and cockroaches.

If “ghastly” cuisine is your thing, pay it a visit and revel in the many creative ways animal parts can be cooked and feasted on — bull’s perineum, sheep’s eyeballs, deer’s fetuses — pickled, deep-fried, or even eaten raw. Bear suit optional, but lining your pockets with thousands of dollars might be a smart requisite as some delicacies, like the rubbery sexual equipment of old dead tigers, shoot up to more than five grand.
