Korean “Dogmeat” Video Sparks Japanese-Korean Flame War

Like all great stories, this one began with an American activist with a video camera, straying into the dark alleys of Chilsung Market in Daegu, South Korea, recording and commenting (classy soundtrack: Beethoven’s “Moonlight” sonata) on the stacks of scrumptious piles of meats of dogs, cats, rabbits, goats — even cute puppies and kittens. A Japanese uploaded the video on YouTube, which was picked up by a Korean newspaper, which would then inspire hundreds of country-loving Japanese and Koreans to fling steamy flame war crap at one another. Isn’t the internets so wonderful?
