US Sen. John McCain’s Pampered Stroll Through Baghdad Redefines Meaning Of “Walking Freely”

Republican US presidential candidate Sen. John McCain recently proved that Baghdad is a happy, safe place by taking a one-hour stroll through an open-air market.

Never mind that there were “100 American soldiers, with three Blackhawk helicopters, and two Apache gunships overhead” nervously covering his ass and preventing him from ending up in a thousand quivering, meaty pieces.

For some delightful context, here’s McCain describing how wonderful Baghdad is.

And here’s the same fellow ably demonstrating his earlier assertions after his “Sunday stroll,” showing what a promenade-friendly place Baghdad really is and enlightening the world on the “real Iraq situation.” It makes us want to go there ourselves and sit on some white picket fence and blow dandelions.

    1. Michael Ware is terrific. Good for him to tell it like it is. I especially liked his interview with Anderson Cooper about a month ago where they talked about the hidden wars in Iraq. Very informative piece of journalism that was.

McCains credibilty is going fast and like Ware says is “swinging in the wind”. Too bad.
